Fabulous location, setting and surroundings. First impressions were great. Check in was smooth and quick. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Everywhere is clean and tidy, decorated tastefully and all in theme.
We upgraded to use the thermal spa & gardens, definitely worth the extra and made our stay that little bit more special and relaxing. Big thanks to Genie (sorry not sure if her name is spelled correctly), she is an asset to the staff team at the spa; so lovely, pleasant and happy in her role and nothing was too much trouble for her.
Our room was a good size, comfortable bed and good bathroom.

Breakfast excellent, especially the fresh fruit salad. Room very quiet and comfortable. Within easy walking distance of Newby Bridge along a very good pathway away from the road. Was seen out onto the road every morning by the owner, making it very safe.

Lovely hotel, situated right on the lake, with fabulous views from our room. We paid for a 'Lake View' and for the extra, it was certainly worth it. The terrace from the main lounge is great - we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a bottle of champagne watching the sun set over the lake.
The restaurant was also very good, high quality food, well presented and at reasonable prices. The staff were attentive, polite and made us feel most welcome.
The spa is also very nice, again a terrace overlooking the lake, where you can sit in the jacuzzi with fabulous views, watching the boats go by!

The hotel was large and light, tastefully furnished.
The hotel was large and light, tastefully furnished. It was right next to the lake ferry giving easy access to other parts of the lake. Vouchers were given for the car park very close by. there was a great path, one mile long leading to Newby Bridge, where we sat outside by the river with a relaxing drink.

Great place to base for lake district and south lakes. Onsite spa relaxing but need to book as limited spaces per session. However use of another pool and sauna is in hotel for guests. Parking difficult at busy times but remember to register with hotel so do not get parking a fine. ate breakfast in hotel made to order as well as cold buffet with lots of choice. The garden view room with terrace was ideal as we had a dog and could access the garden easily. The room was a good size. The staff were really helpful The food was delicious. The leisure centre was fabulous The huntsman bar was fabulously decorated and reasonably priced and tasty food. A pleasantly situated hotel on the river. Our room was large and overall comfy,with a great bed. However, we found the hotel overpriced particularly foodwise which we felt was of standard quality. We had numerous negative feelings and left a day earlier. The hotel did refund a days stay which was good of them. My husband and I have much experience of hotels, Food service, customer service and felt this hotel could be so much better if they revert to first class service. I would not choose to stay there again, sadly.

The only negative was that the lakeside allowed Dogs in the hotel. I love dogs but think when you go to an expensive hotel you don’t need dogs staying in the bedrooms. The Huntsman pub was very good for food. While we were eating our meal there were 3 dogs running around the pub and not under control. This was bad owners not bad dogs. Beautiful location

Fresh white linen tablecloths and knapkins. Although the menu was compact everything I ate tasted delicious on the two nights I was there. There were specials each night, very copious portions. Helpful friendly service. The rooms had comfy beds and nice bedlinen, lovely white fluffy towels in the refurbished bathrooms. Mine had a jacuzzi bath which was brilliant for relaxing.
